Broken down vehicle causes delays as northbound A249 Sheppey Crossing is closed

A broken down vehicle has forced the closure of a major road during this evening's rush hour.
Traffic is being delayed on the northbound carriageway of the A249 Sheppey Crossing as the breakdown has meant the road has been closed towards the Isle of Sheppey .
Highways agencies are warning of significant delays in the area as a result.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
