The fundraiser is taking place across three different mountains – the Catbells in the Lake District, Mam Tor and the Great Ridge in the Peak District and Pen Y Fan in Wales on Saturday, October 7 at 5.30pm.

Keith, 42, said: “I’m always encouraging people to go climbing and obviously if those people get in trouble it is Mountain Rescue who save them so we wanted to give something back to them.”

The event is called Light Up the Mountains as all those descending on the three picturesque peaks will have their head torches on – covering the mountains with glittering lights.

Keith added: “Mountain Rescue are also attending the events to show their appreciation.

“It’s hard to gauge exactly how many people will be taking part but it will be in the thousands.”
