Singer-song writer Emeli Sandé was spotted filming a music video and buying doughnuts in a seaside town.

The Next To Me singer was seen recording in Leysdown, on Sheppey, yesterday evening.

In between takes, she headed to the Meatz & Treatz kiosk where she chatted with staff and ordered snacks.

Tammy Hilden, from the seaside eatery, said: “She posed for a picture with one of my staff members, Casey Prime, who sold her some doughnuts.

“She’d been in Leysdown from dinner time onwards and came to us at around 7.50pm.

“She ordered 20 doughnuts and a latte. The people she was with also ordered hot drinks.”

Tammy, who has been the manager of the food stall for nine years, explained Emeli and her team were filming by the coloured huts on the beach.

She added: “She was really down to earth and happy to pose for pictures.”

This isn’t the first time a singer has chosen the Island as a background for their music videos.

In 2016 former Take That star, Robbie Williams, was in Leysdown filming a video for his Christmas single.

He rushed to the aid of an excited fan after she crashed her car. She was driving past the set as her friend filmed the action from the passenger seat, but a momentary lapse in concentration resulted in a prang.

Speaking of the area’s celebrity visits Tammy added: “I didn’t get to meet Robbie but I did see Olly Murs when he came here to film as well at one point.

“Last Monday we also had the famous director, Andrea Arnold, filming down here for a BBC production.

“I think famous people like to film in Leysdown because it’s not built up.

“There aren’t any skyscrpaers, the poeple are friendly and it’s like a world of its own.

“I hope her coming here will help pick up business. We need it, it’s been a terrible year.”
