A former beauty queen is now pulling pints at her local.

Stacey Alliston-Green and her fiance Lee McCall have taken over at The Nore pub in St George’s Avenue, Sheerness.

The pub has always been Lee’s local and when the tenancy came up, the couple decided to go for it.

Stacey, 21, has been a Sheppey Princess twice, was Miss Kent in 2008, been part of the England team for Miss European and is also chairman of team Scotland for this year’s Miss European and on the committee for Miss Sheppey.

Before starting out in her new path, Stacey also studied law at Greenwich University, but left after her first year as she didn’t feel it was enough of a challenge.

Stacey and Lee, 29, held an opening night for the pub at the end of last month and carnival courts from around Kent came to give their support.

The pub will mainly be a sports bar with pool tables and they are also looking for darts teams.

She says her beauty pageant past has been a bit of a talking point in the bar.

She said: “I’m loving it so far – it’s brilliant.

“There’s different people coming in, so I’m meeting new people all the time.”
