Emergency services have cordoned off a road after a telegraph pole collapsed next to a post office.
Engineers are working to restore power to 58 homes left without electricity as a result of the incident in Leysdown Road in Leysdown, Sheppey.
UK Power Networks cut off the supply to 376 customers shortly after midday and had restored the power to most properties by 1.08pm.
Spokesman Niamh Arnett said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and work is continuing to reconnect remaining electricity supplies."
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Police were called to a report that a damaged telegraph pole was hanging over Leydown Road, Leysdown, at 11.37am.
"Officers have attended the scene alongside crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and a road closure has been enforced to ensure public safety."
Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman Kirsty Gearey said crews were called at 11:49am and "helped to cordon the area off".
