Fire crews deal with chemical spill

Fire crews were called to deal with a chemical spill at an industrial unit in Rushenden this afternoon.
They went to Argent Road at 1.15pm after a container started leaking what is believed to be hydrochloric acid.
No one has been hurt but three fire engines, an incident support unit and the Environment Agency were sent to the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and specialist suits were there until 3.40pm making the area safe. Specialist officers were also there to analyse and determine the chemicals.
Kent Police have been informed.
