Crews tackled an out of control blaze in 'arduous conditions' after a bonfire was left unattended.
They were called to Chequers Road, Minster, just after 1.30pm.
The bonfire was started in a fire pit to the rear of a property.
It soon spread to nearby scrap metal, before reaching a neighbouring home's garden.
The fire was put out just before 2.30pm.
A fire service spokesman said: "The fire caused extensive damage to the gardens of both properties and involved trees and shrubbery. There were no reported injuries.
"Crews tackled the fire using hose reel jets and rakes and worked in arduous conditions to bring the fire under control."
