Flood alerts issued by the Environment Agency for parts of coastal Kent

Flood alerts have been issued for parts of Kent this afternoon.
The Environment Agency has put out alerts warning that flooding is possible and residents should be prepared.
The flood alerts are in place for the Isle of Sheppey and along the coast from Kemsley to Seasalter, from Whitstable to Margate, and from Dartford to Allhallows.
The Environment Agency said: "This flood alert has been issued due to a high tide forecast for Sunday afternoon.
"Highest tide is expected to be at 1.45pm. Flooding is possible two hours either side of this time from 11.45am to 3.45pm."
It added that flooding to properties was not expected, but that its incident response staff were checking its defences and structures and were prepared to respond if required.
"Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous," the agency said.
