Fire crews were called upon to put out a rubbish fire in a garden after it spread to nearby homes.
Two fire engines were sent to New Road, Sheerness, at 9.25am yesterday, and used hoses to put out the flames.
They had started to spread to fascias and guttering of two neighbouring homes.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire is being treated as accidental.
The crews had left by 10.10am.
