Gavin Tait has point to prove against Danny Dontchev at Medway Park
08:00, 17 March 2011
Gavin Tait has a score to settle on Friday night when he takes on Bulgarian Danny Dontchev at Medway Park.
The 35-year-old Sheerness boxer controversially lost on points to Dontchev during his last fight at London’s Millennium Hotel in January.
It was a fight where even Michael Helliet, who manages both boxers, felt Tait should have been awarded the victory.
That decision still grates with Tait and he needs no motivation to get the job done in front of what could be a 1,500-strong Kent crowd.

Tait said: "I don’t usually think about the fights but for some reason I just can’t get this one out of my mind.
"I think that’s maybe because I feel he has had one over on me.
"I’ve taken it personally and will be setting the score right on Friday night.
"I just need to make sure I don’t get caught up in the occasion. I’m taking a big crowd up there and that’s an advantage for me.
"For some people that can add more pressure on them but for me it will bring out the best. There is nothing better than having that home support."
