Creative diversion sign on junction of Queenborough Road with Southdown Road in Halfway, Isle of Sheppey
13:25, 18 September 2016
Members of the public have been entertained by a creative way of signalling a diversion route.
The sign on Queenborough Road, Halfway, points drivers down Southdown Road, but only if they can read the upside down writing.
It seems that engineers did not have a turn left diversion sign, so resorted to turning a turn right sign upside down.
The photo was tweeted by Councillor Cameron Beart, who represents the Queenborough and Halfway ward for Swale Borough Council.
Cllr Beart wrote: "Not sure about this sign".
Thankfully the sign does not seem to be causing confusion.
