Music and massage went hand in hand at a family festival this weekend.
Visitors to the Folk and Harmony celebration at Barton’s Point Coastal Park, off Marine Parade, Sheerness, were treated to taster sessions of various therapies on Sunday.
It was organised by Dawn Cockburn, who founded the Harmony Therapy Trust, and internet radio station Sheppey FM, to replace the cancelled Donkey Derby.
Mrs Cockburn said numbers were down because of the weather, but there was a good community feel with everyone enjoying the hog roast, activities and water sports.
The evening concert kicked off with Charlotte Marie Howard, the Harmony Therapy Trust’s ambassador patron, giving her own rendition of Run and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
Mrs Cockburn said: “Groups and duos carried on the entertainment and as dusk turned to night, candles were lit around the stage dedicated to those we had lost, challenges overcome and future hopes. A beautiful end to a great day.
“The Trust is grateful to Mandy Shade and her team at Barton’s Point and all the staff and volunteers of Sheppey FM and Sheppey FM Roadshow for putting on this great event.”
