A pair of baton twirlers are hoping for success in an international competition.
Esme Targar, 11, and Melissa Ralph, 20, of Kent Angelettes Baton Twirling Club, have been chosen to take part in the European championships in Slovenia this July.
They were selected to be part of a team consisting of 13 girls and women from across the country, after they attended national squad training in Luton just before Christmas.
They fly out on July 7 and compete between July 9 and 10.
Minster resident Esme, who attends Fulston Manor School, will travel with mum Claire, while Melissa, who lives in Rushenden and works for Swale Heating, will be accompanied by her grandmother Pat.
The pair are working on fundraising ideas to raise £1,000 each to pay for their flights, accommodation and costumes.
Committee member Rob Allen said: “Musical bingo, race and quiz nights are being arranged.”
To make a donation, call Mr Allen on 07962 103107 or email info@kentangelettes.co.uk.
