“You can’t win them all” – that’s the view of psychic medium Charlotte Clarke after most of her predictions failed to come true.

The Times Guardian asked the born and bred Islander to make some local, national and international predictions to coincide with Halloween last year.

While her feelings of Prince William marrying in early spring came true, others such as disruptions due to the Kingsferry Bridge being closed for maintenance work, and a royal visit to open a large building at the eastern end of the Island, didn’t.

But that didn’t deter her from having a go at making some predictions again for the coming year.

Charlotte, who lives in Marian Avenue, Minster, said: “I don’t know if it’s this year or early next year but I feel there will be baby news for William and Kate and it shall be a boy.

“I think it will have an unusual name and break with tradition.

“High tides will cause a problem at the end of the Island like Shellness and Harty Ferry in March/April.

“There’s also a large robbery being planned. It’s connected with the Swale area, maybe those involved come from there.

“I also see a large liner capsizing in the English Channel in the next four months. I’m being shown lots of lorries and cars. I think it’s more of a cargo ship as there are more new cars than passengers.”
