Car thieves target Sheppey vehicles

There has been a spate of vehicle crime across Sheppey.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting the relevant crime references.

Several cars had their tyres punctured in Granville Road, Sheerness, between July 6 and 7 (XY/023236/15 and XY/023265/15).

A set of number plates, VJ03 LLE, were stolen from a Ford Galaxy on The Leas, Minster, between July 5 and 6 (XY/023230/15).

Two cars were broken into in Scotchmen Close, Halfway, between July 6 and 7.

A Garmin sat nav was stolen from the dashboard of one of the vehicles, along with four boxes of 20 Benson and Hedges cigarettes, £25 cash from the arm rest and two Callaway golf clubs on the back seat.

The driver’s window was smashed in the process (XY/023227/15).

The other car was searched but nothing was stolen (XY/023246/15).

A sat nav and a mobile phone were stolen from a works van belonging to the London Borough of Islington in Seathorpe Avenue, Minster, between July 7 and 8 (XY/023406/15).

Around the same time, £4 was taken from a car parked in the same road (XY/023441/15) and a sat nav was stolen in nearby Scarborough Drive (XY/023446/15).

An iPod was stolen from a vehicle parked in Filer Road, Halfway, between July 5 and 6 (XY/023245/15).

A set of number plates, GL05 FHC, were stolen from a vehicle at Queenborough Bowls Club, Borough Road, Queenborough, on July 7 (XY/023320/15).

A set of earphones were stolen from a vehicle on the corner of High Street and Harold Street, Queenborough, between July 8 and 9 (XY/023526/15).
