A driver who rammed two police cars in an attempt to get away has been jailed for 14 months.
Bradley Pearce drove dangerously in a Ford Transit in Noreen Avenue, Minster, in the early hours of April 26.
At about 1.45am, police received a call to say a man wanted in connection with a domestic incident was in the Teynham area.
Officers attended and Pearce was seen driving in Minster and officers started to pursue him. He stopped his vehicle and began shouting at a woman he knew.
Police blocked in his white Ford transit, with one car in front and another behind but he drove the van towards the car and hit it.
The 35-year-old, of no fixed address, then reversed into the other car before ramming the first vehicle for a second time.
He was arrested later in Bromley and a knife was found in the van.
Pearce admitted two offences of damaging property, dangerous driving and having a knife in a public place.
He denied harassing Marie Beard between January 1 and April 26 this year, assaulting her causing actual bodily harm on February 16, damaging her car windows on April 18 and having an offensive weapon – a crowbar – in Sheerness on April 18.
The prosecution offered no evidence on those charges.
Pearce was sentenced on Monday to seven months for dangerous driving, six months for having a bladed article and one month for damaging property.
Investigating officer PC Adam Blakeman said: "Pearce’s sentence reflects his determination to cause as much damage to the police cars as he could, not only putting his life in danger but those of my colleagues.
"I’m pleased he has been sentenced and I hope that this outcome serves as a deterrent to others."
