Sheerness RNLI lifeboat launched after reports of a man in the water at Gillingham

The RNLI was called in to help search for a man reported to be in the River Medway.
The Sheerness inshore lifeboat Buster was called to The Strand in Gillingham at 9.55pm yesterday, following a call from the the Coastguard.
It was feared a vulnerable man had gone into the water.
The lifeboat team was on the scene by 10.20pm and immediately began a search of the area using night vision equipment and searchlights.
Crews from the Sheppey and Medway Coastguard Rescue Units were also deployed to
search from the land along the shoreline.
All crews were stood down at 11pm once police had found the man, safe and well.
