Personal contact details for magistrates have been accidentally sent to a Sheppey prison for printing.
There are fears that magistrates’ security has been compromised, after a year book containing names and phone numbers was sent to a print workshop at Standford Hill Prison.
The document listed magistrates in the Norfolk area. It did not include their addresses.
A spokesman for Her Majesty’s Court Service said the workshop in the Category D prison was staffed by prisoners assessed as low risk and that they were supervised at all times.
All copies at the prison have now been destroyed and procedures for screening items to be printed have been improved.
