Pupils have made an online video to highlight the issues of noise pollution.

Swale council organised a session with children at the Isle of Sheppey Academy on Friday as part of Noise Action Week.

Led by the school’s head of media Karen Gray, pupils created different scenarios of sound nuisance and the impact it can have on communities.

The video will be on Swale council and the academy’s websites and on YouTube.

Council cabinet member for environment and rural affairs Cllr David Simmons said: “The effects of noise pollution can be devastating, but on some occasions can be resolved simply by communicating with your neighbours.

“We wanted to raise the awareness of both elements and, working with the academy, I hope we have achieved just that.

“The pupils have worked very hard to get those messages across in a fun way.

“We are grateful for all they’ve put into the short film, and I hope we can work with them again in the near future.”

Noise Action Week ends on Friday.
