Man arrested after shops in Bridge Road, High Street and Millennium Way in Sheerness targeted by thief

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of thefts from shops spanning three months.
Alcohol, meat, washing products, clothing and cosmetics were reported stolen from seven stores in High Street, Bridge Road and Millennium Way, Sheerness, between February 15 and April 28.
The total cost of everything stolen is said to be in the region of £2,400.
Yesterday (April 28) police patrolling the area were alerted to a suspicious incident by an off-duty officer.
A man was subsequently stopped, searched and arrested.
Sean Mannough, of Jefferson Road, Sheerness, was later charged with 10 counts of theft.
He was also charged with criminal damage to a police station cell.
The 41-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (April 29).
