Man arrested after Sheppey Crossing accident

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after an accident near the Sheppey Crossing.
It happened at about 6.45pm on Saturday on the A249 mainland-bound, just after the Cowstead Corner roundabout and involved a blue Ford KA and a motorbike.
The driver of the KA was taken to hospital with back injuries and the motorcyclist was taken as a precaution.
Police closed the road and traffic was diverted over the Kingsferry Bridge until around 8pm.
A 49-year-old man from Maidstone has been arrested and bailed to Monday, July 23.
