Man arrested on suspicion of brandishing knife in Sheerness bailed

A man who was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a knife in a town centre has been released.
Police were called to Sheerness at about 7.40pm on Tuesday after it was reported a man was walking around the town with what witnesses said was 'a large knife'.
People were told to stay inside the Sheppey Leisure Complex buildings, off Royal Road, while armed officers dealt with the situation.
A 20-year-old man, from Minster, was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article.
However, this afternoon, police said he had been released on bail until Saturday, September 7.
