A 55-year-old man is to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today after a woman was seriously hurt on Sheppey yesterday.
Charles Woodhams was charged with committing grievous bodily harm (GBH) after a woman was found in Rushenden at just after 9am with severe facial injuries.
Police were then led on a high-speed chase across the Island after a suspect driving a blue car allegedly refused to stop.
Witnesses described seeing at least a dozen patrol cars going through Warden and Eastchurch.
The chase came to an end when officers used a stinger to blow out its tyres in Lower Road, Minster.
Woodhams, who has been remanded in custody, lives in Rushenden Road, Rushenden.
