Man dies in construction site fall

HEALTH and Safety Executive officials are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man whose body was found at Sheppey Leisure Centre.
Police say the bachelor, from Sheerness, was discovered on a construction site where the £1 million Sheppey Healthy Living Centre extension is being added to the leisure centre off Royal Road. It is believed a passer-by found the body.
Detectives think that the man, who has not yet been officially identified, got onto the construction site while it was shut for the weekend. He is believed to have climbed on to two metal containers, slipped and then fallen. Wooden boarding fell on to him, trapping him.
A post mortem is due to be held later this week.
