Mothers given dry clothes
15:42, 04 February 2003
FAMILIES lost clothes, food, carpets and furniture as the waters rose.
The Women's Royal Volunteer Service (WRVS) set up an emergency centre in the former Food Office, Broadway, Sheerness.
Mothers hunted through donated items to find dry clothes, shoes and blankets for the children.
All food supplies had to come through the docks and were transported around the Island on army lorries.
