Shopping trolley in Sheerness stuck on bandstand confuses onlookers
17:13, 26 July 2023
A shopping trolley pictured on top of a beach bandstand has left onlookers scratching their heads.
The object, which was skillfully placed near a seafront promenade, was captured by coastal officer Ian Arnell and has left people with more questions than answers.
He took the photo at Sheerness Beach on Sheppey before contacting the local authorities.
A spokesman for Swale council said: “The trolley appeared on the bandstand overnight, and we contacted our contractors to get it removed, but when they arrived it was down.
“Whilst we appreciate the motivation – and share the frustration - of those who took it down, we would rather they left this kind of thing to us to deal with and not take unnecessary risks.”
It is still not known as to how the trolley was positioned and who caused the mischief.
