People self-isolating or working from home are allowed to park in restricted zones, amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Swale council announced it has lifted parking bay restrictions meaning drivers can park anywhere in residential areas only on Sheppey, in Sittingbourne, Faversham, all day without getting fined.
The measures were brought in on Friday and remain in place until Wednesday, July 1.
Cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Tim Valentine (Green), said: “We are seeing a significant increase in residential parking as government restrictions require people to self-isolate and work from home.
“We usually see a peak in parking in the evening when people return home from work, however this has now moved to during the day.
“We want to make sure residents can confidently follow government guidelines without the worry of where to park, so the normal time limits applied to non-permit holders will no longer be enforced."
It means non-permit holders will be able to park their cars in zoned areas around the clock.
Rules will still stay in place around illegal parking.
Cllr Valentine added: "All double and single yellow line restrictions will still apply because they are critical for highway safety and provide a clear passageway for emergency and waste vehicles."
