Van driver charged after police find cocaine in gas canister in Queenborough

A man has been charged after police found 13 kilos of cocaine hidden inside a gas canister.

Officers seized the drugs after they stopped a van in Thomsett Way, Queenborough, just before 8pm last Tuesday.

Mosin Quadir, of Durham Terrace, Bradford, was arrested and charged two days later with possessing cocaine with the intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.

The 26-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, October 16.

It is thought the cocaine would have had a street value of several hundred thousand pounds, potentially up to £1million.
