Police chased a van more than 10 miles along the A249 and over the Sheppey Crossing after it failed to stop.

At 10.45am, a vehicle believed to be unroadworthy did not pull over for police when asked to.

It was travelling on the M2 coastbound, one mile from junction 5 and officers followed it for 17 minutes.

Police cars and a motorbike blocked the transit and brought it to a 'tactical stop' on the approach to the roundabout near the Sheppey Crossing, on the Sheerness side.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, but was later de-arrested and no further action was taken.

The vehicle was seized by police and an investigation is ongoing.
