There will be no poppy shop this year but wreaths will still be available.
Brian Lyons, who usually runs the Island’s poppy appeal, is not able to run the shop this year because of illness.
However, people can still collect their wreaths from Island Printers in Granville Place, off Granville Road, Sheerness, during office hours.
The Mayor of Swale, Cllr Adrian Crowther, will attend a Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Sheerness on Sunday, November 8, at 11am.
There will be a short service and wreath laying followed by a service at Holy Trinity Church in Broadway, Sheerness, at 11.30am.
A parade, organised by Royal British Legion member Steve Louch, will arrive at the Cenotaph at 10.45am.
All organisations are welcome to attend the parade, and should meet in Sheppey College car park at 10.15am.
Roads will be closed to traffic as the parade makes its way along the road via the two Tesco roundabouts, setting off at 10.40am.
After a service at the Cenotaph, the parade will head along the High Street at 11.20am to the church for a service at about 11.45am.
A march past will take place from the church after the service at about 12.30pm from the Holy Trinity car park, Broadway, Trinity Road and back to the car park.
After the parade all are invited back to the Co-op club in St Georges Avenue for refreshments and entertainment.
St John Ambulance will kindly be providing the band for the parade.
Organisers wish to thank Swale council and Kent Police for their help in organising the road closures.
There have been parade orders produced for the parade, if anyone would like a copy prior to the day then contact Steve Louch 07535 658610.
