Spare change from customers shopping at Tesco, Sheerness, added up to £1,253.55 for charity.
Brian Lyons, from the Sheppey branch of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association - Forces Help (SSAFA), and Sheppey Sea Cadets were at the superstore in Bridge Road at the weekend.
The money will be used to continue the charity’s work supporting former servicemen and women in Sheppey.
My Lyons said: “Thank you to all the people that gave their support and to all those who asked for help I will be in contact with you.”
