The owner of a Kent garden centre has been left "shocked and angry" after tills and items were swiped during an overnight raid.
Bosses at Stones Garden Centre in Halfway Road, Sheerness, were reeling after discovering it had been targeted late on Saturday night.
Thieves broke into the building at about 10.30pm and stole a number of items.
Owner Matthew Waghorn said: "The lock on the front gate was cut. Our safe with change and yesterday’s takings were inside.
"They have taken tools and antique clocks from a tool container, and a PC from our office.
"Other concessions that we have here have also been broken into, with tills and tools taken."
Mr Waghorn told how the aftermath of the raid was discovered this morning when staff opened up, but the business remained open today.
"We have all been left shocked and angry this could happen," he added.
"We are all family and friends here on site so are supporting each other and we just hope that the person or people involved get caught."
A spokesman for Kent Police said the force "is investigating a report of a burglary at a garden centre in Halfway Road, Sheerness, which is reported to have happened on 23 October 2021 at around 10.30pm where a number of items, including tools and a safe, were reported to have been stolen. Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incidents are ongoing."
