Minster Speedwatch team seeks volunteers to catch speeding motorists

Speeding motorists could have met their match in Minster, Sheppey.
The village’s community Speedwatch team has been out and about armed with a new detector donated by Minster Parish Council.
Drivers repeatedly seen speeding or spotted travelling at more than one-and-a-half times the speed limit will be sent a letter of advice.
The scheme aims to increase drivers’ perception of the risks of speeding and encourage them to slow down, reduce crashes and the severity of injuries and to improve the quality of life for residents.
Community Speedwatch is a national initiative using trained volunteers with the backing of the police to monitor speeds.
If you would like to join the team to help keep Minster’s roads safe, call parish clerk Trish Codrington on 01795 873831 or log onto the website www.communityspeedwatch.co.uk.
