A supermarket worker was punched in the face as he collected trolleys from the store’s car park.

The victim was in the Tesco car park in Bridge Road, Sheerness, when a group of youths began separating the trolleys he had collected and lined up, ready to return to the store.

One of the boys then tried to pull a trolley away from the employee before punching him in the face, leaving the left side of his face bruised and swollen.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened at about 9.20pm on Monday, September 21.

A 15-year-old boy was later arrested and bailed until October 6.
