Sheppey man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Alma Street near Sheerness Beach

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a person was stabbed near a beach.
The incident happened in Alma Street, Sheerness on Sheppey at about 2pm on Sunday (February 25).
The road was taped off from about 4pm and at least one police car was at the scene for the remainder of the day.
Police say the victim was allegedly approached by a man known to him and was assaulted.
He was stabbed and taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Officers carried out inquiries at the scene near Sheerness Beach.
Darren Finch, of Coronation Road, Sheerness was later arrested and taken into custody two hours later.
The 49-year-old has now been charged with attempted murder and threats to kill.
He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court later today (February 27).
