TB scare at Kent school
00:00, 17 October 2002
PARENTS, staff and pupils at a Kent school have been alerted about the possibility of tuberculosis infection.
A letter sent to the homes of pupils at Cheyne Middle School, Sheerness, by the county medical officer states that a teacher had been diagnosed with pulmonary TB (of the lungs).
Although it is believed the risk of infection to others is slight, staff and pupils who have come into close contact with the teacher will undergo a screening process.
