Teacher strikes planned for several Sheppey schools tomorrow
11:20, 16 October 2013
Teacher strikes will affect four Island schools tomorrow (Thursday).
The Isle of Sheppey Academy will be shutting both its east and west sites due to a national row over pensions and pay.
A spokesman said due to the proportion of staff taking industrial action it was in the best interests of the pupils to close the school for the day.
Halfway Houses Primary, in Southdown Road, Halfway, will have three classes staying at home due to strikes.
West Minster Primary, in St George's Avenue, Sheerness, will have one class closed.
All other schools on Sheppey had no planned closures.
