Two teenagers have been bailed after a woman was taken to hospital with face and leg injuries following a road rage attack.

Police are searching for witnesses following the incident which happened in St George's Avenue, Sheerness, last month.

At around 5.20pm on March 17, near the junction of Bridgewater Road, a man and woman got out of a white Audi and assaulted a man and woman, both in their 20s, who were in a nearby white BMW following an argument.

The female victim was left with facial injuries and a leg injury and was taken to hospital.

Detectives reviewed multiple line of inquiries, including door-to-door knocks, speaking with witnesses and reviewing available CCTV and arrested two teens as a result.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both from Sheerness, were arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until tomorrow.

PC Stuart Drakeley, from Kent Police, said: "We have reviewed multiple lines of enquiry and already made two arrests as part of our investigation.

'I encourage them to contact us at their earliest opportunity...'

"We do however believe there are some witnesses to the incident who are yet to speak with us, including some passing motorists who may have caught the altercation on their dash cameras and passengers who got off a bus close to the scene at the time of the incident.

"I encourage them to contact us at their earliest opportunity."
