There was major train disruption on the Isle of Sheppey after thieves stole signalling cables overnight.
No trains were running between Queenborough and Sheerness-on-Sea following the theft.
A replacement bus service was put in place until the service returned to normal at around 2pm.
The theft was discovered after Sheerness-on-Sea's signaller encountered a loss of power to the signalling system overnight.
Response staff then found cables had been stolen along the line, in a repeat of a similar theft last May.
