A high-speed police chase has led to three arrests.
Shortly before midnight yesterday, officers on patrol in Brielle Way, near Queenborough, came across a black car which they suspected had been stolen.
They requested it to stop, but the vehicle carried on so they pursued it from Cowstead Corner, through Eastchurch to Leysdown.
The chase came to an end when the car crashed in Shellness Road, Leysdown.
The occupants of the car fled but after a search, three people were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
They are a 26-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, all from Rotherhithe.
They remain in custody.
