Sheppey man arrested after teenager attacked in Sheerness High Street released by police

A man arrested after a 16-year-old boy was taken to a London hospital following an attack has been released by police.
Officers were sent to High Street, Sheerness, at about 11.30am on Wednesday, December 18, and detained a 26-year-old man from Sheppey on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
A section of the High Street was cordoned off from Russell Street to Victory Street for more than five hours while forensics officers carried out their investigations.
The teenager had to be flown by air ambulance to King's College Hospital in London in a critical condition.
Witnesses said they saw a man stamp on the boy's head before leaving the area.
A 26-year-old man from Sheppey was originally released on bail until Friday last week.
Officers have now decided to release the suspect while they continue their investigation.
A police spokesman said: "The man who was previously arrested in this case has now been released under investigation."
