The family of a schoolgirl who died suddenly have paid tribute to their "princess".

Annalise Dawson, who would have turned 11 in September, died of an asthma attack, despite the efforts of paramedics to save her.

More than £1,500 has now been raised for the funeral of the youngster, who attended Eastchurch Primary School in Leysdown.

A GoFundMe page started in her memory said she died on Friday.

Her mother, Kelly Watson, has posted a heartfelt message on Facebook.

She said: "Heartbroken. The Angels took my Annalise way too soon. I love you so much my princess. Shine bright for Mummy."

Her sister, Dawn Watson from Ashford, also wrote: "Sadly at 5.01am this morning my twin sister Kelly's daughter Annalise, who was 10 years old was taken by the Angels from a severe asthma attack.

"You're with Nanny now darling, she will be looking after you.

"Love you forever and will miss you so much."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise £5,000 for the young girl's funeral.

It reads: "This is to give her the best send off. Heaven gained an angel and left broken hearts here.

"This left us all. She had many friends and she was loved by so many.

"She has always suffered with asthma and a dry skin condition and she has battled through life with people making fun of her and her conditions.

"She died tragically from her breathing. Paramedics tried very hard to bring her back to everyone.

"I know so many people want to help Kelly get through this and there is nothing really anyone can do for her and her family but I think by raising money for either the best send off or even something in memory of her will be all we can all do at this time."

The tragedy comes 10 years after a young boy from Sheppey died of an asthma attack.

Joshua Goodwin, eight, died suddenly in 2007 when he collapsed at a football match in Eastchurch.

His parents set up the Joshua Goodwin Asthma Foundation in his memory which has raised more than £30,000.
