Magician Steve Fisher, of Alma Street, Sheerness, to appear on ITV's Take Me Out
00:01, 30 December 2014
A Sheppey performer will show whether he can “pull” using magic when he appears on Take Me Out this week.
Magician Steve Fisher will appear on the ITV dating game show, which sees single men show off their talents to try to impress 30 ladies and earn a chance to take one of them out on a date.
The 25-year-old works for Haven Holidays and regularly performs his act as Magic Steve across the country.
While working at a park, the six female colleagues he was living with at the time dared the singleton to see if he could get a girlfriend on the programme using magic alone.
Although reluctant at first, Steve eventually gave in.
“I thought, alright I’ll do it,” he said. “They’re not going to pick me anyway.
“Later on in that year I got a phone call saying, we would like to consider you, would you come in for an interview?
“And I did and I got the part.”
During the interview he had to talk about himself, what sort of girls he goes for and share some embarrassing secrets.
Steve, who divided his time between work and home in Alma Street, Sheerness, has already filmed his scenes but he is not allowed to divulge whether or not he was lucky in love.
He did reveal, however, that his efforts on the show, which is presented by comedian Paddy McGuinness, involved fire eating, an illusion called the fire cage and a giant squirrel.
He said: “I’m excited and nervous because I can remember some of the stuff I said and how cheesy it was.
“There are some proper embarrassing moments and definitely some funny moments as well.
“I’m hoping some agent watches it and decides to give me a call and hopefully my career goes on a bit.”
The episode will be on ITV on Saturday at 8.30pm.
