Queenborough-based Bespoke Affordable Kitchens submits plans for new business park and drive-thrus on land between Brielle Way, Cromwell Road and Newland Road in Sheerness.

Plans for a new business park and two fast-food drive-thrus have been submitted for land less than two miles away from another retail park.
An application has been put forward to Swale’s planning committee for vacant land between Brielle Way, Cromwell Road and Newland Road in Sheerness.
The hybrid outline application consists of three plots.
Plot A will be for the relocation of Bespoke Affordable Kitchens which is currently based in Queenborough.
Plot B is intended to be used as a pair of semi-detached small business units and plot C/D is intended to be used for two fast-food drive-thru units.
The application site is an undeveloped, roughly rectangular-shaped, parcel of land sandwiched between Brielle Way and Newland Road.
A statement from the application reads: “The nearest residential development is some distance away to the northeast and is separated from the site by both Cromwell Road and the Sheerness Railway Line.
“There are no significant views that would be altered by or be viewable from the application site and the surrounding area is of similar unvarying elevation whilst the Queenborough Wall and Lappel Bank disconnect the site from the seashore.”
The application, which is expected to create 50 jobs, seeks permission for new buildings, the formation of vehicle and pedestrian access points from Cromwell Road, parking and manoeuvring for cars, motorcycles, cycles and vans and soft landscaping.
The applicant, William Callow of Bespoke Affordable Kitchens Ltd, was contacted for comment, however, KentOnline was directed to Harrisons Chartered Surveyors for further details.
Although it is too early for the development consultants to announce what fast food outlets may move onto the site, a spokesperson did confirm they’d had lots of “early interest”.
The proposed business park is just 1.8 miles away from Neats Court, which is home to Morrisons, KFC, Starbucks, Burger King, Costa, B&M and several other businesses.
The new multi-million-pound Walbrook Business Park, which is also in Queenborough, is also just 1.8 miles away from the proposed site.
It has been built just off the A249, opposite Neats Court, by Queenborough-based company Medichem Properties, which was founded by self-made millionaire Tom Allsworth.
However, Cllr Mike Whiting (Ind) for Queenborough and Halfway, doesn’t see the closeness of the parks being an issue.
He said: “It is great news that people are willing to invest in Sheppey and create more jobs on the Island.
“Fifty new jobs will be welcomed and I often hear from businesses on Sheppey that there aren’t enough units for smaller ventures and this application is offering that.
“This proposal will allow new businesses to thrive.”
