It may well be met with an eye-roll by many, but a UFO was spotted during Tuesday night's storms - it has been claimed.

In a video viewed more than 550 times on YouTube, a small black circle can be seen to move in the sky within a frame as lightning strikes over the Isle of Sheppey.

User tizzyprelude, who posted the clip, wrote: "Upon reviewing the video for image, I stumbled upon this. What do you think? Something is definitely there and has moved within one frame."

One viewer, however, proposed an explanation - but still labelled the imagery as "odd".

Commenting under the username Dom M, he said: "Could be the lightning reacting to your camera sensor, who knows.

"What you need to do is look at that part of the screen before the lightning and add a filter to see if the object is there before the lightning."

Kent has had its fair share of sightings over the years.

Last year, villagers in East Farleigh were left feeling perplexed after seeing "something falling from the sky", with one suggesting it was a UFO.

Meanwhile in Thanet, members of internet group ufosightingsdaily believed they saw an object flying over Manston airfield

In Hythe and Folkestone, a series of lights spotted glowing through clouds became a bit of a mystery.

What do you think this latest sighting could be? Have your say in the comments below.

More storms are expected on Sunday and Monday, so keep your eye out for any alien aircrafts.
