This was the dramatic scene on a quiet residential street early this morning.
Reports on social media say armed police were at the Thistle Hill development in Minster, Sheppey, at about 1am today.
Residents also told of a helicopter flying overhead.

Resident Sharlene Potter told Kent Online: "The police were all over the Thistle Hill estate.
"The helicopter kept the Minster area all awake circling in the hours of 1am to 3am."
People on Facebook gave running commentaries on the activity.
One said: "Armed police and dogs here."
Another added: "Looks like the helicopter is heading towards the bridge and coming back.
"Whatever is going on sounds serious. How scary."
One witness also reported seeing police around Harps Avenue and New Road in Minster.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Officers were called to an address in the Minster area at around 11.40pm following a report of damage caused to a property where it was believed the suspect might have had a weapon.
"Officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area.
