Willow tree fall drama
17:09, 30 August 2012
Residents were left shocked after a tree limb snapped and fell this afternoon.
No one was hurt, but branches of the willow, in Kent Avenue, Minster, landed on a blue Citroen Saxo, narrowly missing a blue Mercedes.
The incident happened outside the home of Shirley and Colin Rendall.
Mrs Rendall said: "I heard it because it came this way and then it went back. Then there was a great big bang.
"There was only a breeze, if the wind gets up any stronger, I think the rest of it will come down."
"If it goes that way [towards the houses] it could kill someone."
Mr Rendall added: "An elderly lady comes by everyday with her shopping trolley, and she is not the quickest of movers.
"If she had been there, it would have killed her."
