Minster skipper Martin Hammond hasn’t written off his team’s promotion chances.
A five-wicket defeat to Hythe at the weekend left the Island’s senior side sitting mid-table in Division 3 of the Kent League.
But with three of their last four games at home, Hammond feels the team are still in with a shout.
“People don’t like playing us at our place and if we can win our next four then we’ve got a chance,” he said.
“(League leaders) Hythe play Chestfield at the weekend and it would be good if they can now run away with the league. That would leave us chasing the second spot.
“We have to play (third-placed) Chestfield and Holmesdale (in second) yet and we’re aiming to win the rest of our games. If we win them then there is a good chance we will go up."
