Minster’s winning run ended on Saturday - and the captain knows they’ll be fired up to put things right this weekend.
A seven-game streak for the club’s 1sts came to an end with a 154-run defeat against Bexley that has seen their lead at the top of the Kent League Premier Division cut to 11 points.

A KCL T20 win on Sunday against title-challengers Hayes was a welcome boost and Minster go up against a Sandwich Town side this Saturday who pulled off a surprise win against them at the end of May.
Skipper David Masters said: “We had a bad day [on Saturday], nothing seemed to go right for us, but you can have them every now and then. It happens in sport.
“It was one of those days where we seemed to nick everything, they seemed to play and miss at balls, we had a few tough decisions, the two lads who got 70 and 80, one was run-out by quite a way looking back on the video and there were a couple of poor LBW decisions but it is what it is. That is the game, that’s cricket.
“Bexley played well, they took their chances and played some good cricket against us. Things didn’t go our way but everyone is still in good spirits, it’s all good. It is just what we call a blip and it’s onwards and upwards for the weekend.
“The boys are going to be fired up for this one, we owe them (Sandwich) as well. All we are thinking is positive at the moment, we just want to get back on it and go and get those points and push ourselves in front again before we play Hayes the week after.
“Our second team are second in the league, the thirds are second or first. As a club we are quite upbeat, we’re 11 points clear, still, which is a kind of a game in front and we have to play the team in second, which is what we want - we want to put those teams behind us even further behind us.”
Home side Bexley won the toss and batted first on Saturday, posting 257-7, with Varun Anand hitting 77 and Matthew Stiddard 84. Daniel Masters took 4-34 for Minster.
In reply, David Masters top scored with 24 runs as they were bowled out for just 103.
On Sunday, Minster hosted Hayes in the KCL Twenty 20 Cup quarter-finals and a seven-wicket win saw them book a place at finals day.
Hayes had the usual suspects making runs, with Alex Blake and Williams MacVicar both scoring 48 to set Minster a total of 143 to win.
Minster knocked the runs off in 18.2 overs as Akhil Venugopalan hit an unbeaten 48-ball 68 and James Thompson smashed 44 off 33 balls.
“It was good to see a couple of the young players doing well,” said skipper Masters, who was watching on.
“Young Akhil batted beautifully and my youngest, Harrison (Masters, 2-25), bowled really well against some very good cricketers in Blakey and their overseas and with Will MacVicar as well, players who have played a high standard of cricket, so it was quite pleasing to see a couple of young ’uns come in and do really well.
“They are pushing for places in the first team, which makes it really strong, which is what we want.”
