A2 London Road, Sittingbourne near Long Hop pub closed after three-car crash

A major route was closed off after a crash involving three cars.
The A2 London Road, Sittingbourne was shut near The Long Hop pub in both directions, following the rush-hour accident between Sandford Road and Staplehurst Road.
A woman suffered minor injuries in the crash, which also caused damage to a streetlight.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 5.04pm on Tuesday 28 February to a collision involving three cars in London Road, Sittingbourne.
“Patrols attended the scene where one person reported minor injuries and was taken to hospital for medical attention.
“A lamp post was also damaged during the incident and the road was closed while officers arranged for the vehicles to be recovered.”
Kent County Council Highways told drivers to expect delays in the area.
The road remained shut throughout the evening, but has since reopened.
